Skin Vs. Color

Your skin tone is your surface skin color, skin undertone is the hue underneath the surface of your skin. There are 4 different known undertone hues: Neutral, Cool, Olive, and warm. They can be found in any skin tone no matter the amount of melanin you have. People with more melanin tend to have a neutral or cool undertone.

Understanding how your skin works a crucial to knowing what colors work for you. Each season has a set of colors dedicated to it. Designers and stylists choose these colors based on the look of nature during those times of year.

Understand, you are not limited to only wearing the colors that are compatible with your skin. Understanding these colors allows you to know what colors with compliment you better than most.

Natural and warm skin tones tend to blend better with Winter and summer. Those colors tend to be brights and more vibrant.

Olive skin tends to work better with autumn colors. Lastly, spring colors work better with cool skin tones.

Now that you understand colors, it’s time to take it a step further. Let’s get into pieces of clothing.
